9. Social networks

On our website, we may use ‘social plugins’ (‘plugins’) for social networks, in particular the ‘Like’ button of the provider ‘Facebook’, whose website facebook.com is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. The German website facebook.de is the responsibility of Facebook Ireland Limited, Hanover Reach, 5-7 Hanover Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland. The plugins are generally identified by the Facebook logo.

Apart from Facebook, plugins for ‘Google+’ (provider: Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA), ‘YouTube’ (provider: YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA) and ‘Twitter’ (provider: Twitter, Inc., 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103) may be used. The following explanations about Facebook also apply accordingly to all other providers mentioned. For more information on how these providers use data, visit the following links:
‘Google+’: www.google.com/policies/privacy/
‘YouTube’: www.google.com/policies/privacy/
‘Twitter’: twitter.com/privacy

When you visit our pages, the plugin will establish a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. This way, Facebook receives the information that you have visited our site using your IP address. When you click the Facebook ‘Like’ button while logged into your Facebook account, you can link the contents of our pages to your Facebook profile. As a result, Facebook can assign the visit to our site to your user account. We should point out that we, as the provider of the site, have no knowledge about the content of the data transmitted and how the data is used by Facebook. For more information, see the privacy statement of Facebook at www.facebook.com/about/privacy/
